What's different about CCTV in Haripad

Haripad's coastal climate, heavy monsoon rains, high humidity, and occasional flooding demand more than a standard CCTV installation. At ITnext Computers, we design every system to withstand Kerala's weather—using weatherproof cameras, sealed cable joints, surge protection, elevated power backups, and corrosion-resistant mounting hardware. From busy town areas to homes near paddy fields and backwaters, we build security systems that remain reliable throughout every season.

What we install

CCTV cameras we install in Haripad

Which camera is right depends on the property, the power and whether there is internet at the site. These are the types we fit, and where each one makes sense around Haripad.

IP cameras (PoE)

Network cameras on one cable that carries both picture and power, recording to an NVR. The sharpest image, day and night.

  • Shops and offices
  • Banks and institutions
  • Larger homes

In Haripad: For shops and banks along the NH 66 and for halls like the S and S Auditorium, which runs sixteen IP cameras, where a night image has to show a face.

HD analog cameras

Cameras on coaxial cable to a DVR. The lower-cost wired option, and often able to reuse the cable from an older system.

  • Budget installs
  • Replacing an old system
  • Small shops

In Haripad: For homes in Haripad, Pallippad and Karichal that already have coaxial cable from an older system, which can usually be reused.

Wi-Fi cameras

Cameras that connect over your Wi-Fi, so no camera cable has to be run through finished walls. Each one still needs a power point.

  • Finished homes
  • Indoor rooms
  • Small offices

In Haripad: For finished homes in town where nobody wants new cable chased through plastered walls. We check the signal room by room before fixing a camera.

4G SIM cameras

Cameras with their own SIM card, so they send video to your phone with no broadband at the site.

  • Plots and estates
  • Locked or vacant houses
  • Construction sites

In Haripad: For houses kept locked while the family works abroad, and for sites with no broadband connection.

Solar 4G cameras

A 4G camera with its own solar panel and battery, for places with neither power nor internet.

  • Farms and fields
  • Boundaries and gates
  • Remote sheds

In Haripad: For pump sheds, boundaries and gates out in the paddy land towards Veeyapuram, Edathua and Cheruthana, where taking power out is not practical.

PTZ and 360° cameras

Cameras that pan, tilt and zoom, or see all round, so one position covers ground that would need several fixed cameras.

  • Temples and churches
  • Auditoriums and events
  • Large compounds

In Haripad: For temple grounds and open areas. At the Haripad Sree Subrahmanya Swami Temple, one 360° camera with two-way audio covers an open area that would otherwise need three fixed cameras.

Recent work

CCTV we have installed in Haripad

CCTV at Haripad Sree Subrahmanya Swami Temple

Sixteen HD cameras covering the outer premises, with every cable run underground rather than clipped along walls.

Read what it involved

Sixteen HD cameras covering the outer premises, with every cable run underground rather than clipped along walls. On a temple site that keeps conduit out of sight, out of the monsoon and out of reach — surface cable is the first thing anyone cuts, and the first thing the rain gets into. Three of the positions are multi-purpose 360° units with two-way audio. One of those covers an open area that would otherwise need three fixed cameras, and the audio means staff can speak through it rather than having to walk out to whatever they have seen on the screen. Cabling a live site with people coming and going all day is the slow part. We worked around the temple's hours rather than the other way round.

Secuirty Systems & Camera installation at Co-operative Bank Karuvatta

Motion-sensor cameras and an alert system for a co-operative bank branch, where the requirement is different from a shop or a home.

Motion-sensor cameras and an alert system for a co-operative bank branch, where the requirement is different from a shop or a home. A bank does not just need footage after the event — it needs to know something is happening while it is happening, outside banking hours, when nobody is on the premises. Detection is set so that it triggers on people and vehicles rather than on rain, moths and moving branches. Badly configured motion detection produces so many false alerts that within a fortnight everybody turns notifications off, and then the alerting may as well not exist. Karuvatta is roughly 3 km from our Haripad office, which matters for a branch that needs somebody on site quickly when an alert is genuine.

5KW On-Grid Solar at Karthikappally

A 5kW Adani on-grid rooftop system, with the PM Surya Ghar subsidy of ₹78,000 claimed and received.

Read what it involved

A 5kW Adani on-grid rooftop system, with the PM Surya Ghar subsidy of ₹78,000 claimed and received. Worth knowing if you are pricing solar: the subsidy is capped at 3kW. A 5kW system receives the same ₹78,000 as a 3kW one, so the extra two kilowatts are paid for in full. That was the right call here because the consumption justified it — but it is a calculation anyone should see before they commit, and it is the one most often left out of a sales conversation. We handled the portal application, the KSEB feasibility approval and the net meter, in that order. Panels do not go on a roof here until the approval is in hand — installing first is the most common way a subsidy claim fails.

CCTV & Inverter Power backup at S and S Auditorium

Sixteen IP cameras across the auditorium premises, including a 30x PTZ used for live streaming of programmes as well as for security.

Read what it involved

Sixteen IP cameras across the auditorium premises, including a 30x PTZ used for live streaming of programmes as well as for security. That dual use is why the system is IP rather than analog. A 30x optical zoom on a PTZ can follow a stage from the back of a hall and hold a usable image, which no fixed analog camera will do — and the same camera earns its place on event days rather than only when something goes wrong. A Luminous inverter and battery back the system, because an auditorium cannot have a recorder drop out mid-event. Losing power mid-write can corrupt a recording disk, which is why we put backup on the recorder as standard, not as an upsell.
