Who it's for

Who we install CCTV for

The right system for a two-bedroom house and the right system for a godown have almost nothing in common. We size to the property.

  • CCTV for homes

Gate, front door, car porch and the rear approach — plus live viewing from your phone wherever you are.

  • CCTV for shops and showrooms

Counter, entrance and stock area. Losses here build slowly, at the counter and in the stock room. Placement does more than camera count.

  • CCTV for offices and schools

Multi-floor coverage, with IP cameras at the points where you need a face you can name.

  • Solar CCTV for construction sites and farms

Solar cameras with a 4G SIM for building sites, farms and plots with no power or broadband. They keep recording through a power cut, so you can check the work's progress from your phone.

Our method

How we place cameras on a home

The same method on most homes we do: the four corners first, set so the cameras cover each other, then the spots that matter to you.

One camera on each corner of the house, each looking along a wall. Every side of the house is covered, with no blind wall.

Each corner camera also keeps the next corner camera in view. If someone covers or breaks one, the next has already recorded them.

Then cameras where you need a face or a number plate, such as the gate, the car porch or the front door. How many depends on the property.

Indicative prices based on average item costs, GST included. The exact price depends on your site. Prices include hardware, cabling, installation and configuration. Long cable runs, high masts and civil work are quoted separately. For a rough figure for your own property, try the CCTV cost calculator, or read what drives the price of a CCTV system.

Choosing

Wired, Wi-Fi, 4G or solar?

Short version: wired unless you can't. The other three each solve one specific problem — distance, no cabling, or no power. Choosing a recorder? Read DVR or NVR and IP camera or analog CCTV.

Questions

CCTV questions we get asked most

How many cameras do I actually need?

Four is the usual starting point for a home — gate, front door, car porch and the rear approach. A shop normally needs the counter, entrance and stock area. We work it out on the site visit by walking the property and finding the blind spots, not from a package list.

How many days of footage will I get?

It depends on disk size, camera count, resolution and whether you record continuously or on motion. Four 2MP cameras recording all day to a 1 TB disk keep about 21 days on an H.265 recorder, or about 10 on an older H.264 one. Tell us the retention you want and we size the disk for it, or work it out with the CCTV storage calculator.

Will it work without internet?

Yes. Recording is entirely local to the DVR or NVR. You only need a connection to view footage on your phone from outside the property.

What happens during a power cut?

Recording stops unless the system is on backup. We can add a small UPS for the recorder and router, or connect them to your existing inverter. It costs little, and it's the difference between having footage and not.

Should I choose 2MP or 4MP?

2MP is fine for general coverage. 4MP is worth it where you need to identify a face or read a number plate, because you can zoom into the recording and still have something usable. Most properties end up with a mix — 4MP at the entry points, 2MP across the rest.

Can I add more cameras later?

Yes, up to your recorder's channel capacity. A 4-channel recorder takes up to four cameras and an 8-channel one up to eight. If you expect to add cameras, tell us at the survey and we fit the larger recorder now, so adding one later costs the camera and the cable, not a new recorder as well.

Do you repair or service CCTV installed by someone else?

Yes, after an inspection. We'll tell you honestly whether it's worth servicing or whether you'd be spending good money on hardware near the end of its life.

What does it cost?

A two-camera HD system starts from ₹16,500 fully installed, GST included — recorder, hard disk, power supply, cable in conduit and phone setup. Four 5MP cameras with a 1 TB disk start from ₹33,000, and six 4MP IP cameras from ₹60,000. These are indicative prices based on average item costs, and the exact price depends on your site. For your own setup, try the CCTV cost calculator.
